Pipe Jacking Lubricant
MAK LUB
In pipe jacking operations, frictional resistance occurs between the excavation surface and the outer wall of the pipe as the jacking pipes are pushed forward by hydraulic jacks. This resistance varies depending on factors such as pipe diameter, pipe length, excavation surface condition, ground collapse, and soil characteristics including swelling soils or jamming caused by fine abrasive particles. With the increasing use of long-distance and curved pipe jacking, the role of lubricants such as MAK LUB in reducing frictional resistance has become increasingly important. To ensure stable pipe jacking and prevent pipe damage or hydraulic system failure, MAK supplies a range of high-performance lubrication products under the MAK LUB series, optimized for various ground and site conditions.

MAK LUB Series
| Type | Features | Recommended Dosage |
|---|---|---|
MAK LUB-Beta (For general soils) |
Provides the lubrication effect of Alpha, while elastic swelling particles create a bearing effect that helps prevent leakage through ground voids. | 0.3 ~ 0.5% |
MAK LUB-Alpha (For silty clay soils) |
Forms a lubrication film on the pipe outer surface and disperses soil particles to reduce frictional resistance. | 0.3 ~ 0.5% |
