THIXO GEL

Plastic-State Gel Method

THIXO GEL

THIXO GEL Method is a grouting technique in which the main material, thixotropic clay, and the gelation agent (Solution B) are pumped to the injection point through a two-component pipeline system using a 1.5-shot method. The two components are mixed immediately before the injection point to form a high-viscosity plastic flow gel, which is then injected into the ground. THIXO GEL is injected with minimal washout by groundwater and stably fills ground voids, enabling smoother tunneling operations. It can also be used for various purposes, including preventing groundwater blow-out at the tunnel face, reducing friction around the shield machine in the chamber, filling over-excavation in sharp curve sections, and preventing slurry loss.
